Jazz Ireland rolls out the first phase of a Directory of Resources for the Irish jazz community. The directory will provide the location and pertinent information for any venue, studio, organisation and school that has supported Irish Jazz. First and foremost, I would like to thank Jennifer McMahon for her dedication to this project, from the very beginning she was always on hand to help get this directory online.
Phase 1
The first phase of the directory will contain information for Arts Centres and Cultural Centres across Ireland as I feel there is a good chance that these locations will still remain open after Covid-19 and when live music returns to our stages and lives. The directory listings will have photos, contact information, descriptions, links, opening hours and you can even search on a map if you prefer.
Bear in mind that you can contact an Arts Centre for more than music performance, they can sometimes facilitate recordings and space to develop works in all art forms. It is best to get in touch with them before they send in their annual funding applications.
Phase 2 - Filter Criteria
The next step for the directory is to build a filter for all venues so that you can find every location that has a piano or dedicated lighting etc. A full list of what will be added is below.
- Venue capacity
- Piano
- Lighting
- PA System
- Front of house staff
- Backline
- Drum Kit
Future Development
Throughout the year I will add more locations and resources to the directory so that when live music returns any member of the community will have an up-to-date directory of resources to help them get back to performing. Below is a full list of the categories that will be added.

The Final Step
If funding allows, I would like to expand the directory into a fully usable mobile app. The community can have all resources available on their phones.
If you have any suggestions on how this directory can be improved to better suit the community please do get in touch via the contact page or email directly.
