Event Description

Celebrate the release of Ninety Degrees, the debut album from saxophonist and composer Tom Caraher, at a special launch show with his outstanding band. The album, exploring themes of heat and transformation, blends influences from 1970s electric jazz with funk, neo-soul, and modern jazz. Think Weather Report meets Chris Potter, with a touch of Roy Hargrove’s RH Factor.

Joining Tom on stage are some of Ireland’s most celebrated jazz musicians: Paul Dunlea (trombone), Darragh O’Kelly (keyboard, piano), Barry Donohue (electric bass), and Shane O’Donovan (drums). Together, they bring the compositions to life with extraordinary skill, dynamic interplay, and vibrant improvisation, ensuring a performance that feels fresh and deeply engaging.

The Berklee trained saxophonist is recognised as one of Ireland’s leading jazz artists, and has built a reputation for combining technical mastery with creative expression. His work reflects both a deep respect for the jazz tradition and an innovative approach that pushes boundaries. Ninety Degrees marks an exciting new chapter in his journey as a composer and performer.

The album will be available on all streaming platforms and for purchase at www.tomcaraher.com on March 10th, 2025. Don’t miss the chance to hear this music live for the first time.
