Event Description
Hypnotic Brass Ensemble present The Book of Sound (Honest Jon's) will will take place in the National Concert Hall on Sat Dec 1st. This event will be all ages and will showcase their critically acclaimed Book of Sound release on Damon Albarn's Honest Jons imprint.
With its cathedral-like, richly resonant acoustics, the Book Of Sound is a brilliant expression of interplanetary principle. The album is by turns urgent and contemplative, funky and reflective, varied in its textures; but entirely of one piece. Underpinned by concepts of earth's place in the cosmos, held in place by meditation, swirling with notions of history, science, theology, ancestry, there is a rich conceptual brew here.
This show will feature a new lineup of instrumentation - viola, saxaphone, percussion, horns, but features some very special guests to whisk us into the cosmos for some kind of wonderful.
