Tommy Halferty, the brilliant jazz guitarist from Derry, has strong links with France through his French wife and his academic links and his many concerts there. This suite inspired by his interest in writer Albert Camus and particularly his novel L'etranger (The Outsider) has caused him to bring a group of outstanding musicians together to interpret his concept.
He will be joined by Michael Buckley (tenor saxophone, flute); Aleka (vocals); Isumi Kimura (piano); Dave Redmond (double bass); Kevin Brady (drums); Hugo Halferty Drochon (narrator/reader); Norman Mongan (images); Cora Venus Lunny (violin); and Lioba Petrie (cello).
Presented in association with Jazz on the Terrace.
