Event Description
This film & music event will explore Ireland’s own jazz journey and its place in our history. Live Music Concert with Christine Tobin and Band.
The Concert will be followed by the Screening of "Jimmy’s Hall" the renowned 2014 film by Ken Loach. There will be a Q&A with musicians as two of them were part of the film.
Jimmy’s Hall tells the story of Jimmy Gralton the only man since the beginning of the Free State in Ireland to be deported without trial. Having emigrated to the US in 1907, Jimmy returned to Ireland at the end of the Anglo-Irish War in 1921 with a desire to help and contribute to his community in Co. Leitrim.
