NO IDEAS is a new monthly concert series in Dublin that will highlight experimental and improvised approaches to composition and performance.
The series aims to bring together performers with diverse practices and traditions to create one-off performances and for each person to fully enjoy these things without warning and for no reason.

Matthew Houston is a musician and composer who works with conventional instruments, computer music processes, and field recordings. Since his childhood in rural USA he has played in hardcore punk and noise rock bands, free improvisation groups, and as a soloist performing American fingerstyle guitar and electro-acoustic works. Recently he has played in the National Concert Hall Gamelan and is active in the rock bands Perfect Hair (Maine, USA) and Whozyerman? (Dublin, IE). Phil Christie is a composer, improviser and performer based in Dublin, Ireland. His work focuses on small situations - musical and otherwise - with an emphasis on semantic dead ends and rhythmic layering, Under the auspices of The Bonk, he writes and performs compositions with various collaborators. ‘The Bonk Seems To Be A Verb’ was released as a limited edition in 2017 by independent cassette imprint thirtythree-45. The follow up ‘Greater Than or Equal to The Bonk’ was released in 2023.
Neil Quigley is a Composer and Artist from Ireland who is currently living between Kilkenny, Ireland and Glasgow, Scotland. His recent solo works centre on a speculative history of an audio research laboratory based in parochial Ireland in the late 20th century. This work is released as an ongoing anthology series entitled the "Kilkenny Electroacoustic Research Laboratory Anthology”. His work has been described as “all very synthetic, even sometimes comical” and “very confident” by The Journal of Music, as “also rather beautiful” by Nialler9, and as having a “dry and unpretentious wit” by Eoin Murray of the Quietus/DJ Mag. His most recent work has been released on Amalgam Records (US), Miúin (Irl), Destiny Trax (US), The Department of Energy (Irl) and Moot Records (Irl).
