Edi Nunes is a talented Brazilian musician who has been mastering the cavaquinho since her teenage years. She honed her skills in choro and cavaquinho at the Conservatory of Popular Brazilian Music in Curitiba, Brazil, and has performed with numerous samba groups in Curitiba and Dublin. Her musical journey has taken her to Dubai, Portugal, and Dublin, where she has been residing since 2015. Edi is passionate about the classics of samba, traditional Brazilian music, and bossa nova. In Ireland, she strives to showcase the beauty and cultural richness of Brazil by honoring the timeless samba composers and the songs that defined an era.

Kevin Shortall

Kevin Shortall, born to a Brazilian mother and Irish father, grew up immersed in the musical traditions of both countries. He earned his BMus (Hons) in Jazz Guitar from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2005 and a BA in Arranging for Brazilian Popular Music from UniRio in 2018. He has been awarded a full scholarship for the MA program in Irish Traditional Music Performance at the University of Limerick, beginning in September 2024.

Kevin is a versatile musician, proficient in electric and acoustic 6-string guitar, 7-string Brazilian guitar, ukulele, tenor banjo, and Irish bouzouki. He is actively involved in various musical genres across Brazil and has collaborated with renowned choro and samba musicians such as Pedro Amorim, Leo Miranda, Caçula, Antônio Rocha, Rubem Confete, and Toninho Geraes.
