Scott's Jazz Club Presents: Kevin Brady / John Moriarty / Scott Flanigan

One of Ireland’s most dynamic organ trios comes to Belfast for the first time. Dublin based musicians Kevin Brady (drums) and John Moriarty (guitar) join Scott Flanigan (Hammond organ) have recently performed at the Bray Jazz Festival and Arthurs in Dublin to well received audiences.

Kevin received first class honours in his MA in Music from The Cork School of Music, CIT, Cork. He received a Licentiate Diploma in Drumkit Performance from the London Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Kevin has researched and studied many different ethnic drumming styles and this has led to extensive study periods in Havana, Cuba with World renowned percussionists Jose Eladio Amat & Luis Papine. He became a founding member of the Hammond Organ trio Organics in 1997, thereafter they became the first recipients of The Young Musicwide Award in Ireland.   In Ireland, Kevin performs regularly with many of the country’s leading musicians’ including:  The RBG Trio, Scott Flanigan Trio,Richie Buckley Quintet, The Tommy Halferty Brazilian Quartet and many more.

Guitarist and guitar-builder John Moriarty is a graduate of the National College Of Art And Design in Dublin where he studied Visual Communications. John’s guitar building is a culmination of his two interests – visual design and music. He has played countless concerts including Guinness Jazz Festival, Glasgow Jazz Festival, Euro-Jazz Festival in Mexico City, JJ Smyth’s and Vicar Street. John has recorded and toured with U.S. pianist Bill Carrothers and performed with Bobby Watson of ‘Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers’. He has also played many guitar duets with fellow Irishman Louis Stewart.

Scott's Jazz Club is a Thursday night Jazz concert/ livestream event at Ballyhackamore club on No. 1 Sandown Road, East Belfast. The concert price is £15 and includes Bangladeshi finger food . The drink prices are really low as well!
