7.30 pm : 'JACOB DO BANDOLIM TRIBUTE'``` with Regional Massapê & Friends;

8.30 pm : 'BOSSANOVA TRIBUTE' with Luisa Annibali & Friends;

9.30 pm : JAM SESSION

As usual, the night will begin with a CHORO CONCERT curated by REGIONAL MASSAPÊ & Friends. This time they will present a tribute to one of the most importnat composers of choro music: JACOB DO BANDOLIM;

Jacob do Bandolim, born in 1918, emerged during a vibrant period in Brazil's cultural landscape, particularly in the 1930s through the 1950s. This era saw the rise of choro, a genre that melded European musical influences with African rhythms, giving birth to a distinctively Brazilian sound. The country was undergoing significant social and political changes, with the rise of urban centers and a blossoming middle class that embraced new forms of music and dance. Jacob's work played a crucial role in elevating the mandolin as a central instrument in choro music, helping to solidify its place in Brazilian culture. His work continues to inspire musicians and enchants audiences, bridging the past and present with its timeless appeal.

Following the choro performance, get ready for the second concert curated by Luisa Annibali & Friends: Alexandre Guerra, Mateus Zanolla, Arthur Noswitz, Yuzuha O'Halloran, William Aranha, William Ribeiro and Vanessa Talita.

This time they will present a special concert tribute to BOSSANOVA.

Bossa nova is a Brazilian music genre that emerged in the late 1950s and is characterized by its smooth and sophisticated blend of samba and jazz influences. The term "bossa nova" translates to "new trend" in Portuguese.

Characterized by its smooth melodies, soft vocals, and complex harmonies, bossa nova often features intricate guitar patterns and understated percussion. Its relaxed, sophisticated sound reflects the cultural and aesthetic values of Brazil, emphasizing both romantic themes and a laid-back lifestyle.

Come prepared to sing along, dance, and celebrate the richness of Brazilian music with musicians from everywhere.

JAM SESSION GUIDELINES:

Generally musicians can play maximum 2 songs each in order to give space to other artists that might want to join the jam. Percussionists will be more free to join.

As always, Lulu's Jazz Club wants to make majority of its event accessible for everyone avoiding any barrier at the door.
