John Moriarty is one of Ireland's foremost jazz guitarists. In recent times, John has toured / recorded with US pianist Bill Carrothers, Bobby Watson of ‘Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers’ and sax legend Ronnie Cuber; and was a prize-winner at Montreux Jazz Festival's Guitar competition.
He plays regularly with the Richie Buckley Quintet as well as his own quartet and trio projects. His 2013 release, Echoes (Lyte Records) was critically well received and showcases his electric and acoustic dimensions of his playing to great effect.
This new quartet includes pianist Darragh Hennessy, drummer Shane O’Donovan and bassist Dave Redmond - easily one of the finest rhythm sections in Ireland right now. John has collaborated with each of these excellent musicians for many years in different projects, and tonights performance is their first outing all together.
