A multi-instrumentalist, he excelled particularly on the flute and saxophone. Pixinguinha's work is characterized by its rich melodies and intricate harmonies, blending elements of African rhythms and European musical forms. 'MILTON NASCIMENTO TRIBUTE'

Milton Nascimento is a legendary Brazilian musician and songwriter, renowned for his unique voice and innovative blending of genres, including MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), jazz, and folk. Born on October 26, 1942, in Rio de Janeiro, his music often features rich melodies and poetic lyrics that explore themes of love, nature, and social justice. Nascimento’s album "Clube da Esquina," created with fellow musician Lô Borges, is considered a milestone in Brazilian music, showcasing complex arrangements and a fusion of regional influences.

Beyond his musical achievements, Nascimento is also a prominent activist. His songs frequently address pressing social issues, including racial inequality, environmental concerns, and the struggles of marginalized communities. Throughout his career, he has used his platform to advocate for democracy and human rights, especially during Brazil's military dictatorship in the 1960s and 70s. Nascimento's commitment to social justice has made him not just an icon of Brazilian music, but also a vital voice for change, inspiring generations of artists and activists alike.

Venue Information - The International Bar

The International Bar is a traditional family-run irish pub with a long tradition of offering the best in entertainment. Whether it's the informal and unexpected encounters between the many travellers and tourists who gravitate here, the ad hoc "seisiun" when someone pulls out a bodhran and a fiddle of a Sunday, or the unique 7 night weekly comedy clubs upstairs, there's always something happening and it's always worth dropping in.
