Music that seduces on multiple levels ”

ALL ABOUT JAZZ

Rising star of Norwegian jazz, Liv Andrea Hauge's piano trio blends the joy of exploring impulses in free improvisation with clear, melodic compositions. Already acclaimed across the European scene, her trio with Georgia Wartel Collins (double bass), and August Glännestrand (drums) create beautiful melodies and broad shape-shifting soundscapes evocative of their Scandinavian homelands.

Winners of the 2023 Zenith award for outstanding emerging European artists (in association with IMC’s 12 Points Festival), this ensemble’s instinctive interplay makes for a deeply fulfilling live experience. “Young, enthusiastic musicians with considerable ability and an innate understanding of how their contributions fit together as a whole… It's one of those bands that makes you think that the trio is the perfect size for a musical ensemble, it has a wide tonal range and lots of scope for dynamic variation but is small enough for each musician to be fully aware of what the others are doing." - HiFi+ 5 star review

The trio were selected for the Footprints Europe programme, and their second album “Ville Blomster” has just been released on Hubro Records. Liv’s compositions focus on groove, simple and singable motifs and exploratory interplay. The music contains playfulness and melancholy in songs that always have a lot of room for improvisation. Hauge has been commissioned to write a major work for trio, three vocalists and full symphony orchestra for the opening of Bodø24 - European capital of culture.

This tour in Ireland is part of the Better Live Music programme. Better Live is a project co-funded by the European Creative programme of the European Union, and the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund.
