The Hot Box 41 is very much so a vocal affair with truly exceptional quality singing over the hour with artists from America, Paris and Ireland. This Hot Box contains all new releases form the last few months. You can hear from artists such as Liv Monaghan, Carmel McCreagh, Cecile Mclorin Salvant, Connie Han, Tony Bennet and Aleka to name a few.
On this edition I remember the legendary trumpeter, composer, arranger and bandleader THAD JONES on what would have been this 96th Birthday and I dip into his most impressive work as the leader of the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band, the Danish Radio Big Band, the Eclipse Project and as a leader of his small groups trying to give you a glimpse into his magnificent work to inspire you to explore his musical legacy.
